Missives from Maestra: The Novice Day Edition (07/18/2025)

I do no regret canceling the Heraldry class of this past Monday, especially after hearing that two women had died on the road that night when their vehicle was borne away by the flash flooding that had been predicted.

That said, following is a list of classes on offer for tomorrow’s Novice Day, with times that may be subject to rearranging:

11:00 AM to 12 noon – C is for Creative – taught by Alger von Ze’ev

12 noon to 1:00 PM – lunch break

1:00 PM – 2:00 PM – Life of an Executioner – taught by Franz the Executioner

1:00 PM – 2:00 PM – Garb from Simple Patterns – taught by Abu-Duruz Ibrahim al-Rashid

2:00 PM – 3:00 PM – A Class on Food and Simple Cooking – taught by James Rosse

2:00 PM – 3:00 PM – A Basic Cross-Stitching Class – taught by the Noble Valentine Ambrose

As ever, the third Magistra Isabeau d’Orleans Novice Day Arts & Sciences Memorial Competition will be held, as well. If you have never won a prize for Arts and Sciences at the baronial level or above, or if you have made something using a craft totally unfamiliar to you, feel free to enter! This day is all about encouraging creativity in new endeavors!

At the service of your honors,

M. Ana de Guzman
Minister of Arts & Sciences, Shire of Rusted Woodlands
