Events in the Shire of Rusted Woodlands

The Shire of Rusted Woodlands hosts two major events each year:

100 Minutes War

As winter’s woeful song begins to sweep across our beautiful shire once again, our thoughts turn to friends, a warm fire and War! The very beautiful Shire of Rusted Woodlands is delighted to invite the valiant warriors, learned artisans, and good Gentles of The East Kingdom as well as her beloved cousins from far off lands as well as close neighbors to test their mettle once again at the glorious battle we call The 100 Minutes War.

The last major martial event of the East Kingdom calendar happens each November in Sussex County New Jersey. This year’s War is on November 22nd, 2025.

East Kingdom Novice Day

Come one, come all, come celebrate the accomplishments of our newest members. We will have TWO (2) tournaments: an armored combat tourney for the newest combatants to show their prowess, and a fencing tournament- both will showcase the talents of our novice warriors (within 2 years of their initial authorizations).

This event has floated between June and November. This year’s Novice Day will be be on July 19th, 2025.

Smaller event(s):

Dumpling Fest

Join us on April 12th for a day of eating an incredible variety of dumplings and other foods from across Asia, including the Philippines, Mongolia, China, Korea, Tibet, and more.

5th Thursday (or Monday):

When a month has five Thursdays (or five Mondays), we try to have a garb-encouraged-but-not-mandatory potluck dinner!

  • Time: 7:30 to 10 PM
  • Address: 231 Parrish Dr, Wayne NJ 07470. Driveway in is at the south side of the building (it’s a one way). Park in the back.
  • More Details:
    • Doors open at 7:30.
    • Please bring food & drink to share.
    • Donations happily accepted to offset the cost of the site.

Rusted Woodlands presents: 5th Thursday (on a Monday)!! Come, hang out, bring food or drink to share. Wear some garb, or not. There will be good company, games, and perhaps contests.

Fencing Practice in Washington Township on Mondays

Heavy practice is still looking for a site.

Arts & Sciences at the Lakeland Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Wayne once or twice a month (see the calendar)
